they have successfully completed thousands of treatments.
We are committed to utilizing the most advanced technology

Consultations are complimentary and treatment cost is dependant
on the area treated.
About Laser Hair Removal in Chicago
Imagine not having to shave, tweeze, wax or go through electrolysis
again! Intense Pulsed Light (IPLTM) technology offers a gentle,
non-invasive, permanent solution to unwanted hair on the face,
legs, back, bikini line or any other body area.
Unwanted hair is a problem shared by both men and women.
Some people experience excess hair from the time they reach
puberty; others find it to be a condition that worsens with
age, menopause, or pregnancy. Millions of men and women spend
thousands of dollars each year attempting to get rid of unwanted
hair. Women frequently experience this condition on the face,
especially the lip or eyebrow areas, at the bikini line, under
their arms, or on their legs.
Men often wish to rid themselves of hair on the back or
chest. They too may have unwanted hair between their eyebrows
or on other parts of their face.
For both men and women, shaving, waxing, chemical depilatories
and other temporary hair removal methods have been known to
cause irritations, folliculitis and in some cases, scarring.
Depending on its location on the body and an individual's
hair type, hair can grow in thick, bushy patches, or long
thin strands. Hair follicles can be found at different depths
and densities. Until recently, this great variety in hair
types and body locations made permanent hair removal a significant
challenge.
While unwanted or excess hair is primarily a cosmetic concern,
it can be very distressing to those who suffer its effects.
Unwanted hair can be a source of considerable embarrassment,
limiting people's activities and lifestyles.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Laser Light remove hair?
Highly controlled flashes of light are absorbed by hair
follicles beneath the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair,
which damages or destroys the regrowth potential of the follicle.
What happens during a treatment?
It begins by trimming away the hair above the skin.
You may be asked to wear dark glasses to protect your eyes
from the bright light. Our GentleLase system utilizes a cooling
spray that arrives ahead of the Laser light to ensure a comfortable
procedure. A topical anesthetic may also be utilized to make
the treatment even more comfortable. The treatment is then
completed in between 5 and 45 minutes.
What does the Intense Pulsed Laser Light treatment
feel like?
Each pulse of light feels like a mild sting, similar
to the snap of a rubber band. No anesthesia is required, although
some patients prefer to utilize a topical anesthetic.
Can all hair be treated?
Any hair with at least some pigment in it can be treated.
Is Laser Light safe for all skin types?
GentleLase procedures effectively treat unwanted hair
on all skin types, including dark-skinned individuals such
as those of Black, Hispanic, Indian, and Asian descent.
Are there side effects?
Side effects are rare. You may experience some slight
reddening or local swelling, but this typically goes away
within a few hours. Also, skin can become darker or lighter
following treatment, but will generally return to normal in
a few weeks. Limiting sun exposure before and after each treatment
will minimize side effects.
What kind of results can I expect?
GentleLase Laser technology has been proven to offer
permanent hair reduction. The number of treatments required
depends on several factors related to your specific kind of
hair and skin. The New Image staff will design a program to
meet your particular needs.
What is the cost?
Consultations are free and are utilized to help you become
more familiar with the procedures. Price varies according
to the area treated. Visit our Chicago location.
